Women Who Cyber has been bringing together diverse groups of aspiring and thriving cybersecurity professionals through a series of dynamic and interactive events held across North America. We are thrilled to announce that Women Who Cyber is now going virtual, bringing Women to Watch directly to your screen.

Join us as our panel of Women Chief Information Security Officers shares their inspiring journeys of breaking through the glass ceiling and paving the way for women to lead and excel in the industry. Karen Letain | VP, Product Management, Proofpoint, Inc.

Karen leads the Product UX and Content teams for Proofpoint’s Security Awareness Division. Prior to Proofpoint, Karen was Head of Global Strategy and Innovation for McAfee’s Consumer Division leading the innovation product management, design and strategy teams. She was instrumental in launching a new 3-year strategy focused on moving the organization beyond antivirus to privacy and personal protection. Karen also drove the innovation teams to producing and delivering new performance enhancements in McAfee’ consumer products. Karen was also influential in managing McAfee Consumer’s M&A efforts resulting in the successful purchase of a 40M technology company to help accelerate the roadmap toward personal protection. Karen has also founded and led a number of start-ups in both Cybersecurity and Marketing and was VP of Operations for Thomson Learning the learning arm of Thomson Publishing (now CENGAGE). An active learner, Karen holds a number of degrees and designations. When not working or studying, she spends her time with her husband Claude, 2 children Gabrielle and Dominic and a very large furry 4-legged golden doodle.

Sarah Engstrom | Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information Security Officer, CHS

Sarah Engstrom is chief information security officer for CHS, a leading global agribusiness and the largest farmer-owned cooperative in the United States. She leads the CHS information security, data privacy and employee productivity programs to generate a more secure and productive workforce. The goals for those programs are to arm CHS employees against the latest cyber security threats, identify technology and business process improvements to better secure CHS information assets and improve employee satisfaction through IT services and technology offerings. Engstrom joined CHS in December 2015. Prior to that, she worked for Target for 13 years, first in the Information Technology department before transitioning into Information Security. She has a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Connecticut and maintains a security certification as a CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional. Sarah prioritizes pay-it-forward opportunities to mentor youth interested in careers in corporate or Information Technology environments and is actively engaged in the Twin Cities chapter of Genesys Works. She also serves on non-profit organization boards, including MnTech and CIOs Against Cancer. Sarah enjoys traveling and staying active in her personal life and lives in South Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Judy Hatchett is the VP and Chief Information Security Officer at Surescripts. She sets the vision, develops plans and oversees the execution of Surescripts' Enterprise Information and Physical Security, Business Continuity and Risk Management Programs to ensure comprehensive, high-quality and effective risk and information security management in support of business goals. With 15 years in cybersecurity, she has held leadership roles overseeing global teams for governance, cybersecurity and HIPAA compliance and identity management in multiple critical industry verticals (manufacturing, retail and healthcare industries). Judy is currently the President of the Women in Cyber Security (WiCyS) MN affiliate, an EHNAC Commissioner, and advisory board member. She earned her bachelor’s degree in organizational studies from Bethel University and holds a Masters in Security Technologies from the University of Minnesota School of Science.
