Sumit Dhawan

As CEO of Proofpoint, Sumit Dhawan leads a global workforce of over 4,500 employees focused on defending organizations from advanced cyber threats and compliance risks by protecting their people—and in turn, safeguarding their data, business, and reputation.
A seasoned executive with a proven track record, Mr.
Dhawan brings over 25 years of experience in building category-leading, scaled enterprise software companies and businesses.
Sumit previously served as VMware’s President, where he was responsible for driving over $13B of revenue for the company and led go-to-market functions including worldwide sales, customer success and experience, strategic ecosystem, industry solutions, marketing, and communications.
He also previously served as Chief Customer Experience Officer, managing global teams responsible for professional services, technical support, and customer success.
Before that, Mr.
Dhawan was chief executive officer of Instart, a cybersecurity business delivering innovations in web application performance and security services and held senior executive and general management roles at Citrix.
Mr.
Dhawan holds an MBA from the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida, an MS in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, and a BS in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

Molly McLain Sterling is a Sr. Director of Cybersecurity Strategy at Proofpoint, specialising in human-centric security. Previously, she spent 17 years at Medtronic as Director of Security Culture, leading initiatives in human risk management, developing an award-winning Security Ambassador program, and driving engagement across 100,000+ individuals globally. She is active in the cybersecurity and women in tech communities, and she holds degrees in Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Management.
Rob Randell
Global Sales Engineering Senior Director, Advanced Technology Group at Proofpoint
Rob Randell is currently Global SE Senior Director for Proofpoint's Advanced Technology Group. In this role, he leads a team of Systems Engineers and Architects to help customers and partners get the most out of Proofpoint's advanced technologies including Information Protection, Cloud Security, Identity Threat Detection and Response, Security Awareness Training, and Sender Security and Authentication.
Rob is a regular speaker at different events from local ISSA Meetings to larger security conferences such as the RSA Conference. Rob’s career has been deep into information security through several avenues: virtualisation security and micro-segmentation through the hypervisor at VMware, endpoint memory-based protection with startup Determina (acquired by VMware), anti-malware at Webroot, and prior to that Vericept which was the original player in the DLP space.
