Speaker
Joshua Linkenhoker
Team Lead, Staff Sales Engineer, Proofpoint, Inc.
Joshua is a leader in the Information Security space who works with organizations to build comprehensive Information Security programs. He prides himself as a partner and educator, elevating the understanding of those he works with by building trust and confidence.
He takes a business first approach. Security controls are intended to protect the business but must also enable the business to perform safely. Every security project and initiative needs to be rooted in solid business sense with a realistic business driver and implemented with the functionality and fidelity of the business as the highest priority, While he has experience that enables him to lead across all Information Security and Information Technology domains, his passion has always been around protecting data and information. This began when he was in the military working for NSA classified operations and has continued throughout his career and has been his focus for over 20 years. The programs he works to build cover securing and identifying data at rest in the environment, creating solid data loss prevention controls on the edge to keep sensitive data within the environment, and extend to the cloud and SaaS products to ensure that however the company wants to do business it can be done safely and the data can be protected. Joshua also ensures partnership with compliance, legal, and other stakeholders to ensure that the organization is meeting and can readily attest to satisfying compliance standards and audits.
