John Caruthers, Director of Cybersecurity, Illumina

In September 2019, John Caruthers retired from the FBI after 27 years of service. During his time in the FBI, John supported the Whitewater investigation; investigated the Arellano-Felix Mexican drug cartel; coordinated the Crimes Against Children program; served as San Diego’s Innocent Images coordinator; served as the FBI’s primary ICS/SCADA Threat Coordinator; and spent time in Russia, Ukraine and The Netherlands. John’s last role in the FBI was as Supervisory Special Agent of FBI San Diego’s Cyber National Security Squad, as well as Partnership/Engagement Coordinator.

Subsequent to leaving the FBI, John was hired as Illumina’s Director of Cybersecurity. In this capacity, he leads a team of cybersecurity professionals located around the world, including Singapore, the UK, and multiple locations in the US. John also founded an LLC, HAK-iQ, which is used to raise awareness in all communities via his daily email (The Daily Digest), which highlights current events in the cybersecurity space.

John has been recognized for his leadership abilities on multiple occasions (FBI Director - Leadership Award(s)) and currently maintains 2 GIAC certifications (GSIF and GSLC).

Dan Mihaylov, Sales Engineering Manager, Proofpoint, Inc.

Dan has 18 years of cyber security consulting, pre, and post sales experience. He is a trusted advisor with security projects at various Fortune 100 companies involving Email security, Firewalls, End point security, DLP & CASB. Currently, Dan manages a team of Security systems engineers in Pacific Northwest and Southern California. He holds CISSP & CEH certifications.

Paul Wang, Threat Analyst, Proofpoint, Inc.

Paul Wang is a Threat Analyst at Proofpoint with experience both in computer network defense as well as malware analysis. He comes from a background of signature development and enterprise analytics. Wang specializes in performing digital examinations in support of intrusions, criminal investigations and intelligence management for high profile companies and federal networks. He has contributed to many published whitepapers and continues to help organizations protect the safety of their users.

Amish Kohli, Cloud Solutions Security Achitect, Proofpoint, Inc.

With a background primarily in network, cloud and SaaS Security, Amish has used his technical expertise in sales and administrative roles. Previously, he was a senior sales engineer with Bitglass and Accellion, and a Senior Systems/Security Administrator with Check Point Software Technologies. Amish graduated from San Jose State University.
