Sarah Sabotka is a senior threat researcher for the Field-Facing Threat Research team (within Threat Research and Detection) at Proofpoint. She focuses on crimeware campaigns and communicating the threat landscape to customers. Prior to joining Proofpoint, Sarah spent four years developing and leading the Global Cyber Threat Intelligence team at Experian, where she was also responsible for leading brand monitoring, threat hunting, vulnerability intelligence and ad-hoc incident response activities. Before that she was a Senior Threat Analyst at Goldman Sachs. Sarah earned a Master’s in Cybersecurity from Utica College, where she specialized in both Threat Intelligence and Digital Forensics, and a Bachelor’s in English from the University of Connecticut at Storrs. Her interest in threat intelligence began during her tenure as a Cruelty Caseworker for PETA, where she specialized in OSINT collection and digital evidence preservation to investigate Internet-based crimes against animals; she was also responsible for interpreting and communicating domestic and international animal protection laws to support prosecution of perpetrators, and collaboration with law enforcement from multiple different jurisdictions. Sarah holds certifications in both CompTIA Security+ and SANS GCTI – GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence, and she is a member of the FBI Dallas Citizens Academy Alumni Association and InfraGard.
Jeffrey Freedman brings over 20 years of leadership expertise in sales, channels, marketing and customer knowledge to his current position as Country Manager, Proofpoint Canada. Jeffrey has executive responsibility for developing, supporting and executing the sales strategy for Proofpoint in Canada. In this capacity, he devotes his expertise and efforts to lead Proofpoint in delivering award-winning cybersecurity solutions to Canadian clients. Proofpoint is a proud employer of over 250 professionals in Canada. Prior to joining Proofpoint, he had a 22-year career at IBM, where he worked in a variety of business units and leadership positions. He was the VP of IBM’s Systems and Technology Group. Jeffrey lives in Toronto with his wife and two children. He also contributes his time generously to the United Way and Sporting Life 10K fundraiser.
Greg Belanger is a senior security engineer dedicated to working with customers and partners across Western Canada. As part of the Proofpoint team, Greg is focused on the evolving cybersecurity landscape helping customers use their security technologies to identify and contain threats, while at the same time ensuring the protection of critical data and the reduction of privacy risks. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Greg has previously worked on projects for some of the largest companies in the world, focusing on advanced malware protection, information protection, cloud security, access and authentication and IoT.
