Beer Tasting Experience

Zoom | Wednesday, September 22, 2021 | 4:30PM-6:00PM ET

Developing a modern data archiving and eDiscovery strategy to manage data and mitigate risk can be overwhelming, especially as internal and external requirements continue to evolve. Join Proofpoint, a leader for nine consecutive years in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Information Archiving, as we discuss how to solve the most pressing information governance challenges that modern archiving and compliance technology and strategy must address. Sip, sample and share beer while hearing about the latest in Archive and eDiscovery Technology.

During this virtual event, we’ll share:

  • How to quickly conduct internal investigations and easily share findings with stakeholders
  • Tips to improve litigation readiness and respond quickly to data requests

In between the different topics we’ll cover, a beer expert from Great Lakes Brewery will walk us through us a live virtual beer tasting, where we’ll sample four different beer offerings. You’ll get to know the preferences of your own palate and more confidently select beers you’ll enjoy in the future.

Each attendee will receive their own complimentary Beer Tasting Package. If you would like to receive craft beers to follow along with the tasting, please provide your shipping address when registering. Registration is required by September 14 to guarantee receipt of the Beer Tasting Package.

Beer Tasting Menu

BURST! New England Pale Ale

Get ready for a flavour of BURST! with this 4.5% New England Pale Ale. The hazy light golden liquid flows beautifully into your GLB glass and produces a tight white crown. Pre-dominant notes of mango propel forward and are quickly joined by strawberry, peach and a touch of lemon. Subtle sweetness makes an appearance too. The soft mouthfeel provides a creamy texture. Juicy. Again, back to mango and strawberry with honeydew melon tagging along on the hop rocket. Really bright on the palate, like drinking a fresh fruit salad... if that's a thing.
Recommended food pairings: lobster rolls, shrimp burrito (hold the red onion), Jujyfruits, macaroni and cheese

Octopus Wants to Fight IPA

It pours a beautiful burnt gold edging into a dull orange, like an orange creamsicle complete with a tight white head. As you can imagine, lots of tropical fruits abound from the glass with the first whiffs, followed by a walk in the woods as pine, evergreen and some herbaceous notes are picked up. The first sip provides some sweetness, some dank grass combined with pine needles and then onto "juicy fruit". Soft body with some middle mouthfeel bitterness that tastes like another.
Recommended food pairing: calamari

Great Lakes Lager

This crystal-clear lager pours brilliantly bronze with a snowy white head that glistens like a polished crown. Aromas of lightly toasted malts that offer notes of honey and hay alongside some underlying lemon drop from a generous hop bill (for the style). The light bodied crisp beer is wonderfully refreshing with flavours of fresh straw and wet grass. A titch dry, Great Lakes Lager finishes clean with a noticeable bitterness reminiscent of a freshly cut lawn. A great everyday beer!
Recommended food pairings: wood burning pizza, ice cream, or pie

Canuck Pale Ale

The minute you crack your can, aroma of grapefruit, mango and pine hit you in the face; like a beaver slapping his tail on a pristine small body of water in Ontario. Canuck pours a deep gold, bordering on burnt orange that produces a tight snowy white toque. Take one last nose before getting into the liquid. You'll soon find it hard to put down. Soft carbonation leads into a sweet honeyish start before giving way to more grapefruit, tropical citrus, cannes peaches and pine. Light to medium body with a very dry finish. Drink at your local pub, in the fish hut, campground, the beach, in a canoe (responsibly), playing shinny, on a log... actually, anywhere north of the 49th.
Recommended food pairings: northern pike, moose sausage, tourtiere, peameal bacon sandwich, cheeseburger and fries, mild curry or carrot cake
